A power supply apparatus of an embodiment includes a first filter (3), a second filter (5), and a switching power supply (4). The first filter (3) and the second filter (5) attenuate a common mode current to a level lower than a normal mode current. The switching power supply (4) is connected between the first filter (3) and the second filter (5), and supplies electric power to an illumination load (6) via the second filter (5).
