An antenna apparatus (501) includes: an extension conductor (122) connected to a first section of an outer perimeter of an antenna element (102) and along an entire length of the first section; connecting conductors (104a and 104b) connecting the antenna element (102) to a ground conductor (103) between the extension conductor (122) and feed points (106a and 107a) on the antenna element (102); and a slit (105) extending from the extension conductor (122) to the antenna element (102) so as to intersect a portion between connecting points of the connecting conductors (104a and 104b) and to intersect a portion between the feed points (106a and 107a) on the antenna element (102). The slit (105) has a short-circuited end on the extension conductor (122).
