An insulation component 3 for insulating ventilation ducting D comprises a body 5 in use that surrounds a ventilation ducting part. The body is an enclosed body comprising insulation 11 enclosed by first 15 and second 17 sheets that are bonded at a periphery. At least one vent 21a, 21b in the body permits the escape of air when the insulation component is fitted to the ducting part. The first and second sheets may comprise plastics films, at least one or both of the sheets may comprise metallised film, an aluminium or HDPE laminate. The bonding at the periphery may be heat sealing. Two vents may be provided, with one at either end of the body. No vent may be in an intermediate region of the ends. Only one vent may be used. The intermediate region may have a lateral dimension bigger or smaller than the ends, and may taper. Various design of the insulation component are proposed for different ducting parts, including a 45 degree bend (fig 4), a T piece (fig 5), and a ninety degree bend (fig 6). |
