The present invention relates to an apparatus for reducing the speed of a vessel (10), including: a water-jet instrument (20) which generates braking power by jetting water to the front side, and which is prepared with nozzle pipes (21) on the larboard and starboard bow; and a control instrument (30) which senses the collision risk of the vessel (10), and controls the water-jetting of the water-jet instrument (20). Accordingly, the reverse-thrusting apparatus for reducing the speed of a vessel does not disturb the sailing of the ship as it does not usually protrude to the outside, and is capable of generating braking power in a short time, when a collision risk occurs, so as to promptly stop or veer off. |
