PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device and a method for manufacturing the device, by which a display unit can be accurately aligned to a driver IC even when the display unit is fabricated on an opaque substrate. SOLUTION: The display device 100 includes a driver IC 300 and a display unit 200 mounting the driver IC 300, wherein the driver IC 300 has a second alignment mark AM2 formed on a back face opposite to the joining face with the display unit 200, the second alignment mark functioning as a reference for an arrangement position of each electrode E formed on the joining face.
