<p>The soleplate assembly 100 for an electric hand iron (500, Figure 5) includes a heat conductive frame 101. A substantially transparent soleplate 104 is mounted to the heat conductive frame so that it surrounds the soleplate, at least partially. At least one frame heating element 102 is in contact with the heat conductive frame. At least one soleplate heating element 105 is in contact with the soleplate. The heating elements may be a common heating element or separate elements. An ironing face 111 of the soleplate may be recessed D relative to an ironing face 114 of the heat conductive frame. A shock-absorbing cushion 115 may be disposed between a peripheral portion of the soleplate and the heat conductive frame.</p> |
