Card reader for different storage cards

The reader (10) has a cover hinged at a contact carrier by a coupling unit, where the cover retains cards of different types such as multimedia micro card (102). The cover with the inserted card is pivotable from an opened position to a closed position, and is movable to a reading condition of the card. The contact carrier has two contact sets, where one of the contact sets contacts the card of one type, and the other contact set contacts the card of another type in the reading condition.
