The device has a fluid detection and control circuit communicating with a gas reservoir and a gas generator, and leading to a sealed nostril plug (1) equipped with a control nozzle (3) for placement in the nostrils of a patient. A pressure sensor measures a characteristic value of a flow of gas during swallowing, and a CPU automatically compares the characteristic value with a pre-set value stored in a memory unit. An LCD screen (32) informs the patient whether the swallowing action is performed correctly.
