Synthetic textile fibres containing polyvinylpyrrolidone may be stabilized to light and heat by incorporating therein, preferably from aqueous solution, an amount exceeding 0.5 and up to 5.0 per cent by weight of zinc formaldehyde sulphoxylate on the weight of the fibre. The synthetic fibre may be of polyacrylonitrile, an acrylonitrile copolymer, a polyester, a polyamide or a hydrocarbon polymer.ALSO:Synthetic textile fibres containing polyvinyl pyrrolidone may be stabilized to light and heat by treating with an aqueous solution containing an amount exceeding 0.5 and up to 5.0 per cent by weight of zinc formaldehyde sulphoxylate, based on the weight of the fibre. The synthetic fibre may be of polyacrylonitrile, an acrylonitrile copolymer, a polyester, a polyamide or a hydrocarbon polymer. |
