According to an embodiment of the present invention, the digital broadcast signal transmitting method includes a step of multiplexing auxiliary data including a program map table (PMT), an event information table (EIT), video data and audio data into MPEG-2 transport stream. The EIT or PMT includes a caption descriptor including caption information. The caption descriptor includes the caption information determining if the caption data included in the video data is data providing a digital closed caption service based on electronic industry association (EIA)-708 or caption data providing an analog closed caption service. Also, the method includes a step of transmitting multiplexed MPEG-2 transport stream by converting the same into broadcast signals. |
