The invention is related to a modular catalyst (2) for emission reduction. The catalyst (2) comprises at least one body section (4), which an exhaust gas flow (20) is guided to flow through, the body section (4) comprising at least one catalyst unit (12) supplied with catalyst elements (12b) for emission reduction. The catalyst (2) is provided with at least one end section (8), which the exhaust gas flow (20) is guided to flow through, and with at least one elongated beam element (6) connected to the end section (8) and extending substantially parallel to the exhaust gas flow (20) for supporting the at least one catalyst unit (12) of the body section (4). The invention is also related to a method for operating a catalyst (2), in which method an operating fluid is supplied via the at least one end section (8) to the catalyst unit(s) (12). The operating fluid is used for sootblowing or regeneration of the catalyst elements (12b). |
