<p>The present invention relates to a safety alarm system of an electric vehicle and a safety alarm method and, more specifically, to the safety alarm system of the electric vehicle and the safety alarm method which generates an alarm through horn if a hood of the electric vehicle is opened in the state in which a current carrying plug of the electric vehicle is not removed. The safety alarm system of the electric vehicle according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises; an electric motor; a battery which supplies electric energy for operating the electric motor; a current carrying plug which can be attached and detached to the battery; an interlock sensing unit which detects whether the current carrying plug is mounted on the battery or not; a hood opening and closing sensing unit which detects the opening and closing of the hood of the electric vehicle; a horn which generates an alarm sound to the outside; and a control unit which generates a control signal for operating the horn if information detected from the interlock sensing unit and the hood opening and closing sensing unit is inputted, and the hood is opened in the state that the current carrying plug is mounted on the battery.
