摘要 1,092,929. Temporary recorders; potentiometric voltage measurement. SOC. ANON. DES ATELIERS D'AVIATION LOUIS BREGUET. Dec.9, 1965 [Dec. 22, 1964], No.52302/65. Headings G1J and G1U. A system for storing data elements comprises at least one worm 13 with a nut 28 engaged thereon with means to bring the nut to a position representing the value of data to be stored and means to detect the position of the nut. Two systems for storing the x and y coordinates of up to twelve positions of the representation of an aircraft on an information table are provided, each comprising twelve worms 13 equispaced round the periphery of a drum 9 to which a gear-wheel 23 is rigidly connected in mesh with a wheel 24 on a shaft 25 ending in a store selector knob 26. By turning the knob 26 the drums 9 can be turned to bring clutch elements 22 of selected worms 13 into line with clutch elements 30. When a knob 39 is pulled, a lever 37 presses the clutch elements 30, 22 into engagement against the action of a spring 31 and simultaneously releases a brake (19) and closes a switch 36. A servomotor 34 then drives the worm 13 through reduction gearing 33, 32 and, as a pinion 3 prevents the nut 28 from turning, it moves along the worm 13. The nut 28 is followed by a feeler 41 articulated to a core 48 of an electromagnetic pick-off with a double winding 49 connected through an amplifier 50 to a motor 51. The motor 51 drives a worm 53 and slider 57 of a double potentiometer 56 whose other slider 58 is connected to the information table. Voltage is supplied to the servomotor 34 until the position of the nut represents the co-ordinate to be stored. The worm 53 moves a casing<SP> </SP>43 carrying the pick-off in a direction to bring the feeler 41 into contact with the nut 28 and when the nut presses the feeler 41 against a spring 46 to bring the core 48 to the centre of the double winding 49 no current is induced to feed the motor 51 and a state of balance is achieved. Before turning the knob 26 to select worms 13 to store the co-ordinates of another position or to read out values already stored, it is pushed in against a spring 26a breaking an interlocking connection with the knob 39 and closing a switch 60 to short-circuit the lower half of the coil 49. The motor 51 then drives the casing 43 upwards until the casing 43 hits a stop 61 causing the core 48 to close a switch 62 to short-circuit the rest of the coil 49 and stop the motor 51. The knob 26 can then be turned unimpeded by the lever 41 and when it is released the switch 60 opens the lever 41 is driven back into contact with the nut and the potentiometers 56 receive voltages corresponding to the co-ordinates for transmission by the sliders 58 to the table on which the position can be read. The nuts 28 are initially set to positions representing the centre point of the information table by a synchro-transmitter 6 turning the pinion 3 with the worms held by brakes (19). The nuts are in three parts to provide for reversing at the top and bottom of the worms. To ensure the alignment of the clutch elements 30, 22, the knob 26 carries a disc with twelve equispaced peripheral recesses, one of which must register with a groove in the shaft of the knob 39 before it can be pulled out to initiate a storage action.
