The present invention describes a slingshot apparatus having a pouch or similar type device, and/or wrist support/brace that is capable of temporarily retaining an object prior to launching the object. The slingshot assembly preferably includes a frame member, a pouch, and energy-storing and releasing members acting between the frame member and the pouch. In one embodiment, the pouch and/or wrist support preferably includes a magnetic force element capable of attracting an object to the pouch prior to launch of the object or projectile by the slingshot apparatus. Alternatively, the object to be launched includes a magnetic force element capable of attracting the pouch and/or wrist support prior to launch of the object by the slingshot apparatus.
