摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite positive electrode active material for a lithium ion secondary battery which has high discharge capacity and also is superior in cycle characteristics, and to provide the lithium ion secondary battery using the same.SOLUTION: The composite positive electrode active material for the lithium ion secondary battery includes a positive electrode active material expressed by formula: LiMnMO(1) (in the formula, x satisfies 0.1&le;x&le;0.5 and M represents NiCoMn(where &alpha;, &bgr; and &gamma; satisfy 0<&alpha;&le;0.5, 0&le;&bgr;&le;0.33 and 0<&gamma;&le;0.5, respectively)), and an active material auxiliary agent which exists on a surface of the positive electrode active material and is expressed by formula: LiLaTiO(2) (in the formula, y satisfies 0.1<y<0.17). The lithium ion secondary battery is provided with a positive electrode containing such a composite positive electrode active material.
