The present invention relates to a hydraulic hammer. The hydraulic hammer includes a cylinder having a valve signal chamber and a low-pressure chamber; a piston reciprocating in the cylinder for hammering motion and having a large-diameter formed between upper and lower end portions and having a large diameter than those of the upper and lower end portions; a valve controlling the reciprocation of the piston; and a chisel for crushing an object to be crushed. The large-diameter portion is provided with a slot with one side communicating with the valve signal chamber and the other side communicating with the low-pressure chamber. Therefore, since a slide contact area between the piston and the cylinder is maximized, the supporting force of the piston is increased, and thus it is possible to minimize the piston from being scratched due to alien substances or vibration and lateral load generated at working. Also, since the contact area between the outer surface of the piston and the inner surface of the cylinder except for the slit of the piston is increased, the unnecessary amount of the leaking flow is decreased, and thus the working efficiency is increased. As the amount of the leaking flow for valve control is decreased, it is possible to accurately control a moving point of the valve and thus prevent the system from abnormally operating. |
