The device has an adapter (70) provided on a detector (60), where the adapter comprises a mechanical selection unit to select a type of output signal of the detection device at terminals of an external connector i.e. M12 type external connector, that conforms a standard of a IEC60947-5-2. A configuring unit allots a given configuration to the detector. Conductive pins (11) and a mechanical polarizing slot are formed on the adapter with respect to pins (700).
