<p>The ultrasonic testing device according to the invention comprises a housing (32), means (22, 26A) of determining a delay rule based on focus parameters, control means (22, 26B) designed to provide control signals (C) based on the delay rule and a plurality of sensors (34'1, ...,34'N) attached to the housing (32), designed to receive the control signals (C) and, in response, to emit ultrasound waves spaced apart in accordance with the delay rule, each sensor (34'i,...,34'N) having, through its design and its location within the housing (32), a directivity cone defined by a mean main direction and an effective operating angle around said mean main direction. At least two of the sensors (34'1, ...,34'N) are designed and located differently from one another so as to have directivity cones distinct in terms of the mean main directions thereof (d1,...,dN) and/or the effective operating angles thereof (81, ThetaNu). One way of implementing the device is to use a flexible multi-component phase-controlled sensor. The components consist of ultrasonic transducers of different sizes arranged by groups in different matrix configurations.</p> |
