PURPOSE: A peptide containing an mdm2-binding motif and a use thereof are provided to suppress the function of mdm2, to activate p53 pathway, and to promote cancer cell apoptosis by suppressing binding of p53 and mdm2. CONSTITUTION: A peptide or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof contains an mdm2(mouse double minute 2)-binding motif amino acid sequence of sequence number 1. The peptide contains the mdm2-binding motif with an amino acid sequence of sequence number 1 or 2. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating cancer contains the peptide or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient. Cancer is selected from the group consisting of leukemia, lymphoma, esophageal carcinoma, neuroblastoma, soft tissue cancer, breast cancer, colon carcinoma, lung cancer, and stomach cancer. |
