A resonant interrupter or oscillator has a tuning fork carrying magnetic projections 49, 51 which extend into coils 21, 23 mounted with their common axis perpendicular to the tines 33, 35 of the tuning fork structure. Each tine 33, 35 is mounted on a block 37, 39 and the two blocks are joined together by a pin 45 to form the base of the fork. The interrupter chassis 11 is provided with a projecting post 15 to which is secured one end of a spring 47 secured to the pin 45 to support the tuning fork. Damping material 72 such as silicone rubber in a shell 75 engages the base of the tuning fork. The coils 21, 23 are carried on a magnetic plate 19 supported by the post 15 and an insulated bracket 27 on the plate 19 supports an adjustable fixed contact 29. A wire contact 31 is mounted on the tine 35 and restrained by a damping hook 53. The projections 49, 51 are of permanent magnet material and the resonant frequency may be set by applying solder to the tines at 59. The cover 76 (Fig. 2, not shown) may be sealed on the chassis 11 and projecting connector pins 61 may plug-in to sockets 69 in a base 65. |
