The device (D) has a base (PD) that is deformable to an extension adapted to immobilize the base in a housing (BT) or another extension that is strictly less than the former extension. An arm (BR) is able to be coupled temporarily to each of a set of cables (C1, C2). The arm has an end (E11) secured to the base so as to force the base to take the latter extension in the event of collision of the cables. An air conditioning installation is attached to an element i.e. floor, to allow a swing of the arm with the cables to draw the equipment aside.
