PURPOSE: An in-plane switching mode LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device is provided to improve a penetration ratio by supplying an in-plane field voltage according to three or more voltage levels. CONSTITUTION: Pixel electrodes are formed on a unit pixel area of a lower substrate. An IPS(In Plane Switching) mode LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device operates other pixel electrodes in various level voltages(Vc,Vc+V1,Vc-V2). The IPS mode LCD device overlaps in-plane fields in which are formed between the electrodes.
