A method and apparatus for exchanging media content consumption characteristics in a network is described. The method (600) includes receiving (620) input data, the input data indicating a first user in a group has changed a content consumption characteristic, determining (630, 640) if the first user's changed content consumption characteristic is based on a content consumption characteristic of a second user in the group, and generating (635, 645) a message, the message including information indicating the first user's changed content consumption characteristic is based on the content consumption characteristic of the second user in the group. The apparatus (200) includes a transceiver (202) that is coupled to the network and a controller circuit (214) that receives input data from the first user, determines if the first user's change is based on input data received through the transceiver (202) from the second user, and generates the message that is provided. |
