A NEUTRALIZING RNA APTAMER AGAINST PDGFRβAND THE USE THEREOF IN THE THERAPY AND DIAGNOSIS OF HYPERPROLIFERATIVE DISEASES

The present invention provides a nuclease -resistant RNA aptamer which is capable of neutralizing PDGFRβand is therefore useful in the diagnosis and/or therapy of PDGFRβassociated hyperproliferative associated diseases, such as cancer and primary tumour metastasis. The RNA aptamer of the invention is preferably a modified synthetic RNA sequence wherein at least one pyrimidine residue, preferably all of the pyrimidine residue, are modified to 2'-fluoropyrimidine. A pharmaceutical composition and a diagnostic kit comprising the RNA aptamer of the invention are also provided.
