The method involves detecting a modulation wave from a signal received from a power receiver based on a change of the magnetic flux by the presence of a metallic foreign matter. A modulated wave signal is generated by modulating a carrier signal according to the modulation wave. The modulated wave signal is transmitted from the power receiver to a non-contact power supply device (1). Determination process is performed to determine whether metallic foreign matter is present or not based on the demodulated signal which is demodulated from the modulated wave signal. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a contactless power supply device; (2) a power receiver; and (3) a contactless power supply system.
