PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a widening vehicle body with light weight by simple structure by performing pull-out and pull-in operations of a box-shaped widening part to a vehicle body by telescopic motions of a cylinder via a wire rope.SOLUTION: A widening vehicle body comprises: a vehicle body 3 having an opening 4 on a side face; a box-shaped widening part 10 which is slidable to the side to the vehicle body 3 and a side wall part of which closes the opening in pull-in; and a drive mechanism 40 for sliding the box-shaped widening part 10 to the vehicle body 3. The box-shaped widening part 10 has upper stage sliders 16 and lower stage sliders 17 at upper and lower parts of a front wall part and a rear wall part, the upper stage sliders and the lower stage sliders are slidably supported by an upper stage guide rail 6 and a lower stage guide rail 7 fixed to the vehicle body 3, and the drive mechanism 40 has wire ropes 41F and 41R for pull-out and wire ropes 42F and 42R for pull-in of the box-shaped widening part one ends of which are fixed to the respective lower stage sliders, and a cylinder 50 which pulls or lets out the respective wire ropes. |
