PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric heating type catalyst converter including a configuration capable of eliminating differences in electric resistance for each portion of a base material with good accuracy without lowering manufacturing efficiency.SOLUTION: An electric heating type catalyst converter 10 is configured by: a columnar base material 1 having a honeycomb structure including a catalyst coat layer; a pair of electrode terminals 3 and 3 formed on a surface of the base material 1 and at opposite positions in the diameter direction; a cable 5a connecting the pair of electrode terminals 3 and 3; and an external circuit 5 comprising a power source 5b interposed between the cables. In the inner part of the base material 1, at regions corresponding to the electrode terminals 3 and 3 respectively, a plurality of lead electrodes 7A and 7B having different length and extending in the other electrode side are arranged, and the length of the lead electrodes are getting shorter toward the lead electrodes 7B positioned outside from the lead electrodes 7A positioned at the central side of the electrode terminal 3. By the adjustment of the length of this lead electrode, the electric resistance of one part or the whole in the base material 1 is adjusted to be the same or substantially the same. |
