PURPOSE: A refining apparatus of silicon and a method thereof are provided to remove metal impurities in the silicon, thereby providing the silicon with high purity for a solar cell. CONSTITUTION: A refining apparatus of silicon includes a reaction bath(120), a solid-liquid separating unit(130), and a harmful gas-treating part(140). The reaction bath removes impurities in silicon powder by the reaction of silicon powder and acid liquid. The solid-liquid separating unit is connected to the reaction bath, receives a liquid mixture of the silicon powder and acid liquid from the reaction bath, and separates the same into high purity silicon and waste liquid through a filter. The harmful gas treating part treats and discharges harmful gas discharged from the reaction bath and the solid-liquid separating unit. |
