An igniter shield (100) for use in combination with an igniter (I) includes a substantially cylindrical-shaped body that includes a proximal portion (108), a distal portion (120), a first longitudinally oriented support (116) and a second longitudinally oriented support (116), wherein the first and second longitudinally oriented supports (116) extend between and are connected to the proximal portion (108) and the distal portion (120), the substantially cylindrical- shaped body further including a longitudinally oriented baffle (112) circumferentially spaced apart from the first and second longitudinally oriented supports (116), wherein the baffle (112) extends between and is connected to the proximal portion (108) and the distal portion (120), and wherein the baffle (112) includes a radially outward facing convex surface (124) and a radially inward facing concave surface (128), the radially inward facing concave surface (128) having a radius of curvature smaller than a radius of curvature of at least one of the proximal or distal portions. |
