FIELD: process engineering.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to separation of coke particles from water by gravity at hydrocarbons plant splitting the initial stock containing hydrocarbons. Water is removed at the point (B) above column bottom via outlet (A). Gravity separator (2) composed of multistage settling tank (2) is located nearby water scrubbing column (1). Settler of column (1) doubles as a part of the first gravity separator (2). Heavy water phase loaded with coke particles is discharged via outlet (5) in column bottom (B) and directed to second gravity separator (3). Said phase with heavy water phase loaded with coke particles from recesses of separator (2) is subjected to further treatment. Multistage settling tank (2) and settler of hardening column (1) make communicated fluid system with identical water level.EFFECT: decreased overall dimensions.9 cl, 2 dwg
