The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for controlling a double-sided transparent display. The apparatus for controlling a double-sided transparent display comprises: a location recognition part recognizing one or more locations of a user included within a predetermined range from each surface of the double-sided transparent display; a motion recognition part recognizing a motion of the user; and a mapping part mapping to change virtual objects displayed on each surface of the double-sided transparent display according to the location or the motion of the user. Therefore, by using the double-sided transparent display to overlay the virtual objects of each surface changed according to a movement of the user on a transmitted image of a user at the opposite side transmitted through the double-sided transparent display and display together, a stereoscopic image can be provided.
