PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of improving glycerin assimilation activity of microorganisms, and a transformant of microorganisms having improved glycerin assimilation activity.SOLUTION: There are provided a method of improving glycerin assimilation activity of microorganisms comprising the step of introducing a gene coding for a protein of one of (a)-(c) into microorganisms having glycerin assimilation activity, and a transformant having improved glycerin assimilation activity obtained by introducing a gene coding for a protein of one of (a)-(c) into microorganisms having glycerin assimilation activity: (a) a protein comprising a particular amino acid sequence; (b) a protein comprising an amino acid sequence having at least 70% identity with the particular amino acid sequence and having glycerin incorporation activity; and (c) a protein comprising an amino acid sequence resulting from deletion, substitution, insertion or addition of one or several amino acids in the particular amino acid sequence and having glycerin incorporation activity. |
