PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray diagnostic apparatus such that a holding mechanism, a patient and a patient support mechanism move to desired positions without interfering with one another, and also an imaging region automatically includes a region of interest.SOLUTION: The X-ray diagnostic apparatus is provided with: an arm part turning around at least a single axis; an X-ray detection unit capable of moving in parallel with an X-ray detection surface; a holding part mounted at one edge part of the arm part to hold the X-ray detection unit via a joint part; an X-ray irradiating unit mounted on the other edge part of the arm part so as to face the X-ray detection unit; and parallel movement control means controlling the parallel movement so that a side of the X-ray detection unit nearest from the joint part faces in a turning direction of the arm part.
