<p>Provided is a body cavity illumination device, comprising: an outer tube with a sharp leading end; a light guide tube (LG tube) which is retractably inserted into the inner part of the outer tube; an impelling means for impelling the LG tube in the leading end direction with respect to the outer tube; a lock means for, in reaction to the impelling force of the impelling means, locking the movement in the leading end direction of the LG tube in a state of a leading end part of the LG tube being sheathed in the inner part of the outer tube; and a cover member which seals a leading end aperture part of the outer tube in a state of the leading end part of the LG tube being sheathed in the inner part of the outer tube by the lock means. When the lock is disengaged and the leading end of the outer tube is not in contact with tissue, the leading end part of the LG tube, by the impelling force of the impelling means, presses aside the cover member and protrudes further in the leading end direction than the leading end aperture part of the outer tube.</p> |
