PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a glass substrate for an information recording medium capable of integrating a glass substrate for an information recording medium into an information recording medium, and then providing a glass substrate for an information recording medium in which the deterioration of recording characteristics does not occur.SOLUTION: In a method for manufacturing a glass substrate for an information recording medium, a process of extracting a polished glass substrate 1G from a polishing pad 310 by using a glass substrate extraction jig 100 includes processes of: inserting the glass substrate extraction jig 100 in a closed state into a hole 11 of the glass substrate 1G from a surface 14 side to a rear face 15 side; putting the glass substrate extraction tool 100 in a state that it is opened to the outside of the radial direction of the glass substrate 1G; and pulling upward the glass substrate 1G by using the glass substrate extraction jig 100 in a state that an annular corner part P1 where the rear face 15 side of the glass substrate 1G and an inner peripheral edge face 13 of the hole 11 cross each other is placed on each of a first holding surface 132a and a second holding surface 142a. |
