Agent for treating aqueous media, comprises an adsorbent having a grain size of 1-200 mu m, a Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area of 500-2000 m 2>/g measured according to DIN ISO 9277:2003-05 and a pore volume of 0.2-1 cm 3>/g, and a flocculant comprising an aluminum compound. At least 1 pt. wt. flocculant is eliminated for 2.5 pts. wt. adsorbent.
