The present invention relates to a robot and a direction recognizing method and, more specifically, to a robot which recognizes a position while driving on a rail and a direction recognizing method which recognizes a driving direction of the robot. According to one aspect of the present invention, the robot which includes a housing unit attached to the rail on which a welded bead line is formed; wheels which drives the housing unit; a communication module which receives a 3D position of the housing unit from outside; a camera which photographs the front side of the housing unit; and a controller which computes a driving direction of the housing unit by calculating the difference between a direction of the bead line and a reference line of the images can be provided. |
