PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten time required for transferring write data in an electronic control unit for an automobile.SOLUTION: When data to be written in a ROM 110 on an ECU (an Electronic Control Unit) 100 is transferred from a writing tool 200 to the ECU 100, the ECU 100 performs communication by using not only a communication buffer used in order for the ECU 100 to communicate with the writing tool 200 in an on-board state but also a communication buffer used to communicate with a device other than the writing tool 200 in the on-board state out of a communication buffer of a communication buffer region 141.
