The invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, in particular to the design of devices for refining molten metal by inert gas in a tundish ladle and can be used for continuous casting steel. A device for refining molten metal in a tundish ladle comprises a solid refractory block mounted in a bottom lining of the ladle along its transverse axis between a receiving area and a discharge area, wherein at least three gas distribution channels are made for injection of inert gas into the metal melt, with access to the working surface of a block, which are arranged in succession along its longitudinal axis and are interconnected with a chamber located inside the block and connected to the inert gas supply system, wherein the gas distribution channels are formed with a diameter determined by the following relationship:,where- diameter of gas distribution channel, m,- surface area of the block, m, k - dimensionless coefficient taking into account the effect of physicochemical factors of the process on strength characteristics of the block, equal to 2-8, n - number of gas distribution channels in the block, while the odd channels are arranged so that their axes lie in the same vertical plane with a pitch equal to 2.0-30.0 of the channel diameter, the even channel is positioned so that the angle formed by lines intersecting in the axis point of the even channel lying in the horizontal plane intersecting the axis points of the odd channels disposed in the same horizontal plane is equal to 30-180°, and the distance between the odd and nearest even channels is not less than 0.6 of the channel diameter, while in each channel an insert is located which is made of ceramic material with above-capillary pores directed along its longitudinal axis across the entire height. The invention provides for increase of refining degree of molten metal of removal of intra-metallic inclusions and impurities through the formation of a stable solid fine bubble curtain over the entire height of the molten metal. |
