The incorporating step comprises applying a coating formulation to selectively inhibit visible light in a selected range of visible wavelengths. The device having the dye mixture incorporated therein has an average transmission of at least 80% across the visible spectrum. The method further comprises machining a first surface of the ophthalmic lens and polishing the first surface.
