PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber resonator gyroscope with small round-trip loss and large output power.SOLUTION: A resonator optical fiber gyroscope (RFOG) is provided. An optical fiber resonator includes an optical fiber, one or a plurality of optical filters for suppressing noise light in the resonator, one or a plurality of variable optical attenuator (VOA) capable of adjusting loss of the resonator with high response, and one or a plurality of optical gain elements which provide optical amplification for offsetting a part of loss of the resonator. The RFOG also includes one or a plurality of pump lasers for generating one or a plurality of pump beams for the gain elements in the resonator, and a control electronic circuit configured to control one or a plurality of pump lasers or one or a plurality of variable optical attenuators, so that the round-trip loss of the resonator has a substantially constant positive value. |
