A medical safety needle (1) comprises: a needle main body (15) with a needle tip (P); a shielding body (9) which has a claw part (47) that slides on the needle main body (15) and is capable of engaging with the needle tip (P) so as to cover the needle tip (P) and a flexible cantilever (31) that supports the claw part (47); a collar part (13) which slidably engages on the shielding body (9) and is configured to come in contact with the cantilever (31) to press the cantilever (31) radially inwardly; and a housing (11) which has an end face that is integrated with the collar part (13) or onto which the collar part (13) is seatable, supports the shielding body (9) and is configured to convey the shielding body (9) from a first position in which the needle tip (P) is exposed to a second position in which the needle tip (P) is covered by the shielding body (9).
