The device has a control device (16) that is operatively coupled with a power converter (14), such that several phases are provided in power converter for converting a first input signal to a first output signal. The control device activates a switch (12a) of first phase, in order to convert the first input signal to first output signal. The control device determines an aging condition for switch (12a) based on an equivalent time, an active time period of switch (12a) and based on an operating temperature of switch (12a) during the active time period of switch (12a). An independent claim is included for a method for providing aging compensation control for power converter.
