The friction lining (1) comprises a back plate (5) with a friction material for attaching to a brake disk. The back plate has two radially aligned contact surfaces on hammer head-like projections (8) of the back plate, which are provided in a holder (2) for connecting to the associated thrust bearings (12). An elastic damping unit (14) is provided between the radially aligned contact surface on tensile load hammer head and the associated thrust bearing in the holder. The damping unit is fixed on the back plate by the friction lining.
