Abstract An apparatus for monitoring conveyor belt condition is disclosed. The apparatus is attached to a fixed structure with mountings permitting movement or floating of the apparatus. The apparatus has guides arranged to position alongside opposed edges of the conveyor belt, such that the apparatus locates in a fixed position relative to the lateral position of the conveyor belt.
