PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine that reduces individual differences in detection accuracy while made to be compact, and controls rotation of a rotary tub while taking imbalance of laundry into account. SOLUTION: The washing machine includes an outer case, a water tub, a rotary tub, driving means, a support structure part, a rotation number detector, a vibration detector, and a control device. The water tub is accommodated in the outer case. The rotary tub is accommodated in the water tub. The driving means rotates and drives the rotary tub. The support structure part supports the water tub in the outer case. The rotation number detector detects the rotation number of the rotary tub. The vibration detector is provided on the water tub and detects vibration applied to the water tub based on the acceleration applied to the water tub. The control device compares the acceleration applied to the water tub which is detected by the vibration detector with an upper-limit acceleration which is set in advance, counts the number of excess times when the acceleration applied to the water tub is determined to be bigger than the upper limit acceleration, and controls the rotation number of the rotary tub by the driving means based on the number of excess times.
