PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device and a lighting apparatus which can improve the productivity and can increase the design flexibility.SOLUTION: A lamp 11 is provided with a plurality of substrates 21 successively connected in the prescribed direction. A mounting interval of each light emitting element 45 on the substrates 21 of the lamp 11 is not fixed, but is formed such that the center side becomes larger than edge part sides 15a1 to 15d1 of one side of each substrate 21 in the longitudinal direction and, at the same time, the maximum size X in the mounting interval on each substrate 21 becomes larger than the length Y between the light emitting element 45 disposed on the remotest end of the other side edge parts 15a2 to 15d2 of each substrate 21 and the other side edge parts 15a2 to 15d2 of the substrate 45.
