PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decontamination method of a petroleum contaminated soil having high efficiency for decontamination of petroleum contamination, and to provide a composition for decontaminating the petroleum contaminated soil having high efficiency for decontamination of petroleum contamination.SOLUTION: The decontamination method of a petroleum contaminated soil includes a step of adjusting a content of all carbon in the petroleum contaminated soil (excluding a carbon content of petroleum) to 10,000 to 60,000 mg/kg, and C/N ratio in the petroleum contaminated soil to 8 to 16 by adding an organic material containing petroleum-degrading bacteria to the petroleum contaminated soil. A composition for decontaminating the petroleum contaminated soil contains petroleum-degrading bacteria and has a content of all carbon of 150,000 mg/kg or more, the content of all nitrogen of 8,000 mg/kg or more, and a C/N ratio of 18 to 30. |
