PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more proper release position of a jammed paper sheet without increasing the number of paper sheet detection sensors in a paper sheet conveying device.SOLUTION: A paper sheet conveying device includes: a conveying path 31 in which a paper sheet is conveyed; jam release sections A and B which are provided side by side in the conveying path 31 so as to release a jammed paper sheet; paper sheet detection sensors S1 and S2 which are provided in each of the jam release sections A and B so as to detect the presence or absence of the paper sheet at the positions; jam detection means detecting jam of the paper sheet on the basis of output signals from the paper sheet detection sensors S1 and S2; signal storage means storing signal states of the output signals of the paper sheet detection sensors S1 and S2 just before switched to present signal states; a display section displaying the jam release section; and display control means specifying either one jam release section and causing the display section to display the jam release section on the basis of the combination of the present signal states obtained from the paper sheet detection sensors S1 and S2 and the signal states which are just before switched to the present signal states and are stored in the signal storage means when jam is detected. |
