PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device including a rotor having in a diffuse transmission region and a fluorescent light emission region, which is increased in the utilization factor of the rotor, which is much longer in lifetime as the light source device, or which is suitable for a projector having a wide range of use.SOLUTION: The light source device includes: an excitation light source 71 which emits excitation light; and a fluorescent rotor, as a rotor to which the excitation light is emitted, having a diffuse transmission part, a first phosphor layer disposed side by side at the diffuse transmission part, and installed in a predetermined region on one surface of the rotor and a second phosphor layer disposed side by side at the diffuse transmission part, and installed in a predetermined region on the other surface of the rotor. The light source device includes an inductive optical system in which excitation light is emitted to the first phosphor layer or the second phosphor layer, and fluorescent light is emitted, and the excitation light from the excitation light source transmitted through the diffuse transmission part is emitted to the first phosphor layer of the fluorescent rotor, and the fluorescent light emitted from the first phosphor layer is made incident to the diffuse transmission part. |
